2006 100% BASS – Special  Pro-Am Rules

Rules listed in this section of special Pro-Am rules supersede any other rules listed anywhere else.  Be sure to read all general rules, since they apply in areas not covered under these special Pro/Am rules.

 1) Registration:            Both the Pro and the Semi-Pro must be paid in full prior to the start of a tournament. It is the responsibility of each individual, Pro or Semi-Pro to find a partner.  The100% BASS office will help Pros and Semi-Pros find partners by maintaining a list of available contestants. No Guarantees.  Priority for match-ups will be in order of payment for the event.  All entries for Pro/Am events must be received by 12:00 noon of Tuesday prior to the event. No entries will be accepted at the lake during the check in period without prior approval from 100% BASS headquarters.

Tournament Check-in: All contestants are required to check-in with the tournament registration staff the night before the tournament between 5 pm and 7 pm at the tournament site designated on official flyer.   Those failing to complete check-in prior to the deadline will be assessed a 2 pound penalty up to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, they are DQ’ed from the event and they will forfeit their entry fee. Tournaments on days other than Saturday or Sunday will have check-in set by 100% BASS. The only exceptions are if you contact the tournament director at least 1 hour prior to the completion of check in.

2) Partner Pairing
:            All Contestants must be paired at the draw 1/2 hour after check in has completed. Any individual not present when his or her name is called at the pre tournament meeting draw for partners will be disqualified and will forfeit their entry fee. However, if prior to deadline you call in or notify an official at the tournament site that you will be late or cant make it, a refund might me possible at the directors discretion. Contestants that are Habitually late (more that once per season) will forfeit all points for the season and will be asked not to return for any further event that year.

3) No-Show (Pro):   If, for any reason, the pro does not make it to the draw or the blastoff, the Semi-Pro(non-boater) that he signed up with, or was assigned with, will be eliminated from the event. The Semi-Pro may transfer their entry fee to the next event or any other remaining event during the season. There will be a $25 processing fee for any refunds that are requested.

4) No-show (Semi-Pro):            If, for any reason the Semi-Pro is not present at the draw for partners or the blast-off (s), the drawn pro (s) may fish alone only after communication with and approval of the Tournament Director.  In this case no refunds or transfer of entry fees will be permitted for the Pro.

5) Breakdowns:A - Each boat must pass by the inspection station prior to blast-off under power of the main engine. A boat that can not depart under power of the main engine by the time the last boat has departed, or within a time designated by the tournament officials, will result in a disqualification of both contestants (Pro & Semi-Pro) in that boat for that days fishing. If a mechanical breakdown occurs after they blast off, the contestants may elect to fish without penalty.

B - It is the responsibility of the Pro to report any boat/power breakdown. Boat and mechanical breakdowns will result in disqualification for both the Pro and Semi-Pro signed up together for the event. The Semi-Pro may elect to transfer their entry fee to another event during the current year.  This request must be done prior to leaving the event.   A $25 processing fee will be assessed for any refunds requested.  The Pro may elect to repair or replace the boat prior to the event. If the breakdown occurs during day #1 of the event, the Pro is responsible to notify the events director prior to 9 PM on day #1 of the event if the Pro will not be able to fish on day  #2 of the event. Failure to notify the Tournament Director will result in disqualification from the event. The Semi-Pro that was signed up with the Pro of the failed boat will be removed from the event and his spot will then be taken by the Semi-Pro that was to fish with the Pro of the broken boat.

                          C) – Bacon Saver – Non-Boaters bringing boats to a Pro-Am event may qualify for the Breakdown bacon saver.  Semi-Pros with boats that meet our “Pro Requirements” may offer their boats for use at an event only if they registered boats at the Friday check-in. Any Pro whose boat has broken down and requests to use an Semi-Pros boat must agree to allow the Semi-Pro to drive their boat. However, the front trolling motor position will be controlled by the Pro. The Pro must agree to pay a $50 per day fee to the Semi-Pro before the day starts and pay for all gas and oil used during that days fishing. The draw of partners will be adjusted to accommodate the circumstances created by the breakdown and Semi-Pros will be switched accordingly.

6) Pre-Fish & Off Limits:            The Pro, if at all possible, should pre-fish with the Semi-Pro he/she has signed up with for the event. Pre-fish will end at 5 PM on the day before the event at which time all contestants must be off the water.  There are no off limits and no “official practice days” so any contestant can practice with anyone they choose.

7) Fish Limit:            The daily limit for these events will be 5 fish per boat, per day with the total weight given equally to the Pro and Semi-Pro. (shared weight).  At no time will a boat have more than 10 fish in the live wells.  It is the responsibility of both contestants to comply with this rule and failure to pass this question on a lie detector test will result in disqualification from the event.

8) Ethics: A contestant is prohibited from sharing their days water, methods, lures, and techniques with any other contestant in the tournament. A partner or other contestant that witnesses these violations is obligated to inform the other contestant of the violation and that if it continues will be reported to a tournament official. Anyone protested and found to have committed a violation of this rule will be disqualified from the event.

9) Boats and Motors:            All Boats entered in a 100% BASS Pro-Am must be at least 16 feet long and have a main motor of at least 80 Horsepower.

10) Tournament size: Each event will be limited to 150 paid Pro anglers and 150 paid Semi-Pro anglers. Entries will be posted according to date received. Entries received after a tournament is filled will be returned, regardless of postmark. Field size may vary with special rules, lake size, or state fish and game regulations.

11) Prizes: Pros will be paid cash unless otherwise advertised. Semi-Pros will receive cash. (There may be additional certificates or products depending upon arrangements made with sponsors for both the Pro and Semi-Pro anglers.).

12) Guaranteed Acceptance - Any Semi-Pro entering the tournament with a Pro contestant will be guaranteed entry into the tournament. To ensure guaranteed acceptance, the Semi-Pro entry form and appropriate entry fees must accompany those of the Pro, and be received in our office before the tournament entry deadline (Wednesday prior to event). In any other situation, Pro entries will be matched against available in-house Semi-Pro entries. Such matching of entries is based on a first-come; first-served basis by date entry is received in our office.  Should the Pro's Semi-Pro not show up for the tournament, the Pro loses "guaranteed acceptance" status.

13) Appearance at Weigh-In:
It is the responsibility of all anglers to dress and conduct themselves in a presentable manner at weigh-ins. Tank tops and shower sandals are not considered appropriate apparel when weighing in before the observing public. Contestants approaching the weigh station barefooted or without a shirt will be required to return to the boat for proper dress.

14) Conduct at Meetings: All contestants should do their best to see that those receiving awards are afforded the courtesy of their attention during the announcement and introduction of winners and trade representatives. It is the responsibility of all contestants to understand and be constantly aware that their actions and words speak for all of organized bass fishing in the eyes of the observing public.  Contestants who establish a reputation of ignoring the "code of ethics" and/or the laws of good judgment are subject to review by the Tournament Advisory Committee and are subject to suspension from all activities.

15) Points awarded for Finishing -             Points awarded in all Pro-Am events will be based upon a scale starting at 150 points for first place and continuing downward each place whereby 150th place receives 1 point.  There will be 10 show up points awarded to all anglers and those show up points can not be revoked for any reason.

16) Age Limits - All contestants must be at least 16 years of age. Anyone under the age of 18 must have written consent and release of liability from their parent or legal guardian.  Form can be found at our web site. www.100percentbass.com or by contacting 100% BASS at 530-274-1397.
