6/26/2005- Twigg & Lutz Top the Field at Delta Future Pro event

FOG and a half day event put these anglers to the task of searching out 5 keeper bass.  What a day for these future pro anglers.  They just can’t get a break weather-wise.  This half day event is due to the Department of Fish and Game for reasons to keep the bass alive in the summer months.  The morning of the event fog rolled in, what is fog doing in June?  Some of these anglers had to change their game plan, no long runs in this fog.  Adapting is the name of the game and doing so taking first place was the team of Ash Twigg and Tom Lutz with a total weight of 14.53 lbs. anchored by their big fish weighing 6.73 lbs allowing them to take home a check for $2,255.00.  This team stayed close all day.  Franks Track was their area to work.  They used Senkos and Sweet Beavers to take the win.

Second place went to the team of Vernon Zimmerman and Orlando Medina.  They also fished the Franks Track area drop shotting and cranking which was their direction to catch five nice bass that weighed 13.13 lbs. backing their weight with a nice lunker of 6.12 lbs. which put a nice chunk of change of $1,245.00 in their pockets.

Third place went to Bob and Jenny DeLorenzi who went west to take their limit of bass of 12.96 lbs. flipping and pitching all day long to take home a nice check of $510.00.  Nice to see you again Bob and Jenny!  Thanks for coming out and supporting us.

Forth place was the team of Bill Brattain and Steve Meeks with five bass totaling 12.51 lbs. and a check for $385.00 and rounding out the top five with fifth place who are always a team to be watched when they are fishing the Delta, Rick Cissell and Scott Reali with the weight of 12.46 lbs. and a nice check for $200.00.

Small Boat category taking home first place honors also fished Little Franks flipping and pitching jigs to catch 13.05 lbs. and a beautiful check of $620.00 was the team of David Bialok and Ken Marks.

Second place went to the team of Peter Daru and Chuck Browning with a weight of 6.77 lbs. and third place was the team of Ron Sanders and Shawn Sanders with 5.8 lbs.

I would personally like to thank my staff and all the participants that supported 100% BASS.  Also a big thanks goes to Chuck Russo and his staff for putting together one of the premier places to hold a bass event.
