100% BASS Press Release 3/12/2006 –
Kereszt / Burrows Brave SNOW, HAIL, SLEET, WIND
and RAIN Oh the weather outside was frightful, wind, rain and snow were not delightful but it didn’t stop the Future Pro anglers who came to the scales with limits that topped last years weights on Oroville for their first tournament of 2006. The Postmen have nothing on these guys and gals who proved that even the worst elements that Mother Nature could throw out didn’t stop them from toughing it out and fishing in the worst of the worst conditions. First place in the Big Boat
Division and I might add they did a great job,
Second place went to the team of Troy Shiffer of Suisun City and Jeff Jewell of Sacramento with a weight of 12.08 lbs. and a nice kicker weighing in at 2.93 lbs. They told the crowd that they fished the north and south arms on out croppings, cranking Fat Free Shad and Booyaa spinner baits. For their work a $1,530.00 pay day. Chris Delamian of Concord took third place. He fished this tournament alone as his partner Ken Phillips couldn’t make it to this event. Chris told the crowd that he caught his limit of 12.05 lbs., with a nice fish weighing in at 2.89 lbs. by fishing SLOW near waterfalls throughout the lake using 3/8 brown and purple jigs. Chris took home his check of $905.00 Great job Chris! Forth place went to Philip Garcia and Randy Walker who brought to the scales a limit weighing in at 11.94 lbs. anchored by a 2.67 lbs bass. They took home winnings of $640.00. Fifth place was the team of Troy Collin and Shane Swan with a limit weighing in at 11.83 lbs. with some help from a nice bass of 2.65 lbs. Their winnings totaled $470.00. In the Small Boat Division First place went to the team of Jared Tellian of Lincoln and Eric Collier of Stockton. They weighed in their limit of bass that totaled 10.77 lbs. They cranked and dart headed SLOW in the main body of the lake to take home a check for $125.00 and a beautiful plaque for their wall. Special thanks to Big Daddy’s Pool Hall for the sign-up and the awards ceremony. It was nice to “defrost” after the tournament in the pool hall! Just a reminder, our next tournament is at Russo on the Delta on April 15th. Sign-up will be from 5 PM to 6:30 PM on Friday, the 14th and in the morning of the tournament.
