100% BASS Press Release 9/17/2006 –
Killer Keller’s
take the win at Mercury Future Pro final event of season Last tournament of the
year for the 100% Bass Mercury Future Pro Tournament Circuit. Breaking the
bank, the Husband and Wife Team, the Killer Keller’s took the win, Big Fish and
the loot. Sign-ups were taken at Big Daddy’s Family Billiards on Saturday evening and again on Sunday morning. We would like to give special thanks to the Mc Clain’s for opening up early and also for allowing 100% Bass Mercury Future Pro’s have the awards ceremony there after the tournament ended so we could enjoy being out of the wind where everyone could relax before driving home after this event. We would like to thank the teams that came from other circuits to participate in this event. We hope you had an enjoyable experience and we look forward to having you join our circuit next year. In the Big Boat Division, Melissa and Carl Keller of Galt took home First place winnings for their bag of fish weighing in at 11.57 lbs. They also brought to the scales the largest “Big Fish” of the tournament weighing in at 6.63 lbs. Beautiful large mouth! Carl told everyone they caught their fish mainly in the south fork of the lake using Robo worms, spooks and Norman crank baits. This made their day on the water a success and gave them a pocket of money totaling $2,120.00. Second Place went to the team of Ron Frye from Dixon and Frank Holler from Rio Linda who are very consistent wherever they go. They weighed in a limit of bass of 10.64 lbs. and had the third Big Fish of this tournament which weighed 2.93 lbs. and gave them a payday of $595.00. They told the crowd they fished the main body of the lake drop shotting and using dart heads. Third place went to Jeff Cissell of Modesto and John Shimamoto from Stockton. This young team has potential to move up in the angling world of bass fishing. Great job guys! They weighed in their limit of bass of 9.98 lbs. and they brought to the scales the second Big Fish of the tournament that weighed 3.82 lbs. For their day on the water they took home $1,050.00 for their efforts. They told everyone they fished the north end of the lake drop shotting blue & purple Robo worms. Rounding out the top five, for Fourth place and Fifth place we had a tie: The team of Rich Reeser from Dixon and Kevin Ryan from Oakdale also the team of Lucas Boden from Elk Grove and Jeremy Anderson from Livermore both weighed in a limit of bass totaling 9.32 lbs. so these two teams were sent to the corner of the room with both checks to fight over the split of winnings, ha ha! Each team took home a paycheck of $505.00 for their hard work. Kudos to you four! Look out anglers this team from Nevada who has never fished a bass circuit before shows up to fish both Delta tournaments with one win there then they come here, never fishing the lake or for Spotted Bass and figured them out. My hats off to this First place team who won the Small Boat Division. Lance Lopes of Gardnerville and Todd Hartman of Minden. This team also came in Ninth place in the payback that made them some gas money of $150.00 to take home. They brought a limit of bass to the scales weighing in 8.94 lbs. and a big fish that weighed 2.19 lbs. They told the crowd they caught their fish on jigs in the middle arm of the lake.
