100% BASS Press Release 2/11/06 Davis & Franklin win in a big way at Lake Lopez Coastal Region Team Tournament. It was a beautiful morning at Lake Lopez, and as I’m looking out over the calm water I wondering what the bite is going to be today. But the calm water was soon out lived because the winds came in. I could see the face of the anglers and see that they were eager to get started. So I had to tell about a rule change and remind them of our new sponsor (BassCat Boats) and Quest Bonus. At the weigh-in I got to see one of the biggest bass that I ever seen. Most of the anglers said that they were fishing in water from 2 to 60 feet with jigs, brush hogs, and drop shot. The winners of our second 100% Bass Coastal Region event and a big congratulations go out to Joey Davis and Neal Franklin both of Atascadero. Joey and Neal brought in the second largest bass of the tournament with a big bass that weigh-in at 7.22 pounds and a total weigh of 24.69 for their first place win at Lake Lopez. The angler said that they fished with jigs in about 7 to 40 feet of water all day to catch their fish. Their hard work pays off for them, because they got a check for $2,460.00 and two nice trophies.
