Rules Tournament Boat for Sale |
01/14/2006 - Grier & Sauret wins the Coastal Region opener at Lake Nacimiento Saturday was the opener for our 2006 team tournament season and it was a wet and rainy morning. But the lake conditions was not all that bad and we had the largest number of boats that show up scents I’ve been directing for 100 % Coastal Region. As I was looking out over the field of boats on the water and as I was announcing our new boat sponsor (BASSCAT boats) and the Quest bonus program I could see the angler were getting eager to get started. Just before I blasted them off I congratulate our Anglers of the year and thank all the anglers for supporting the 100 % Coastal Region. As I was calling their number out and watching them leaving at the blast off Oh how I wish I were out there with them. At the weigh-in you would not believe the weigh of the limits that were being brought in. The angler said most of the fish were being caught on jigs, crank baits, spinner baits and drop shoting. The winners of our first 100 % Bass Coastal Region event of the year for 2006 season are Bryan Grier of Salinas and Ken Sauret of Paso Robles. Bryan and Ken had brought the largest weigh to the scale that I have ever seen come from Lake Nacimiento scents I been a director. There winning weigh was a whopping 14.27 pounds and they also had the forth-biggest bass for the day at 3.28. With all the options and big fish they won $2632 and two nice trophies to come. Ken said that they were fishing with jigs and drop shots to catch their fish. Congratulations to Bryan and Ken. Second place goes out to the team of Miles Howe of Laguna Niguel and Manas Malikian of Huntington Beach and their winning also included third place in big fish with the weigh of 3.61 pounds. Their 5 fish tipped the scales at 13.93 pounds. Manas told everyone that their fish also came on jigs and drop shot. For their hard work they won $1553 and two nice trophies to come also. Good Job Boys! Third place went to Jerry Casey and Scott Mullins both of Salinas, Jerry and Scott had caught the second largest bass of the tournament with a whopping 4.41 pound spotted bass and with all their patients and hard work they won $1110 and two nice trophies to come. Scott said their fish was caught on senkos and jigs also. Forth place went to Randy Dark and Debbie Linninen both of Bradley. Randy and Debbie caught the largest bass of the day with a 5.38 pound largemouth bass (what a fish!). Debbie and Randy received a check for $1009. Darin De Rooter and Lyn Dillon both of Hanford had finish in fifth place and they win $420. Darrin Bishop and Dave Solis both of Paso Robles had won sixth place and they won $340. Danny Conatser of King City and Charlie Fisher of Lockwood had finish in seventh place and they won $250. Chris Purgason and Ken Whalen both of Lompoc took home a check for $31 for fifth big fish. Congratulations to all the anglers that fish our 100% bass Coastal Region seasonal opener at Lake Nacimiento and I forward too see everyone at our next event at Lopez on February 11th. I would to thank Bob Kornhauser for the opportunity to be the director for a great organization like 100% bass Coastal Region.
