4/1/06 - Anglers of the Year set to do it again, Crush the field at Pine Flat on April Fool’s Day! The Big Valley region held its 4th Tournament of the season at Pine Flat Lake on April 1st. The weather was post frontal conditions with winds to 15 mph and clearing skies which made the fishing tougher than it had been. Fishing was still good although as we had 44 Teams and 42 which weighed in fish with 33 having 5 Fish Limits. Fish were caught on slow presentations mostly plastics and jigs. 2005 Anglers of the Year Terry Hamlin & Mike Wilson are set to do it again as they crush the field at Pine Flat. Terry Hamlin of Woodlake & Mike Wilson of Lindsay fished jigs and worms in the main river area with a slow presentation from 0-35 ft. They crushed the field with a 16.17 lb. limit anchored by the BIG FISH of 6.74 lbs. Their winnings totaled $3782.00. Good Fishing Gentlemen. 2nd Place went to the Team of Brett Kemmer of Tulare and Scott Burns of Oxnard who stayed in the main lake using Swim Baits and Senkos with a slow presentation in 0-15 ft. of water. These two are looking for Sponsors. They had a total weight of 14.01 with a nice 2nd Big Fish of 6.01 lbs. which earned them a total of $2160.00. Thanks for fishing with us Gentlemen. 3rd Place went to the Team of Mark Pimentel of San Martin and Tony Klein of Fresno who were Shaking Worms and Senkos in the Main Lake 0-35 ft. of water. Their Sponsors are (Cast Away Rods). They had a total of 13.98 lbs. winning them $1421.00. Good Fishing Gentlemen. 4th Place was Lyn Dillon and Rod Cree with a total weight of 13.85 lbs. winning them a total of $950.00. 5th Place was won by Kirk Sakamoto and Keith Freisen with a total weight of 12.28 lbs. that earned them $720.00.
