4/22/07 – Norlin / Caudle Break all time weight record at Diamond Valley Lake Yesterday was the fourth tournament of the year for the 100% BASS DVL region and like usual, DVL didn't let us down. The "all-time" heaviest bag ever to be weighed in a DVL tournament was broken by the team of Eric Norlin and David Caudle with 33.62 lbs. Their limit was anchored by a 8.87 lb. kicker fish. The record was previously held by Kurt Hodges and Jim Valladares. The team said that they caught around 10 fish all day on 12" Uptons Custom Worms. Eric and Davis also won the tournament the day before and won $3735 for their efforts. Congratulations guys. Weighing in 26.01 lbs and good for second place was Pat Keniry and David Avina. Pat and David are definitely one of the teams to beat at DVL and their finish proved that. They walked away with $1470. Tom White and Ed Obymako finished third with 25.68 and walked away with $1055. The team is in a dogfight for the "AOY" honors and are always near the top. Finishing fourth place with 25.44 was Matt Burghardt and Todd Kline. The pair caught their fish on Power Bait and walked away with $430. Fifth place with a total weight of 25.28 went to Kyle Grover and Will Rakowitz. They are locked in a heated AOY battle with Tom & Ed. As a reminder, the last tournament of the series has been moved from May 19 to Sunday, June 10. Thank you for coming out and I'll see you soon.
