100% BASS Press Release 01/12/2008 – Burns / Bowlin Take Top Honors at Millerton New Year Starts off with a bang at Millerton Lake with over half the field weighing in limits. The Big Valley Region held it’s 1st Tournament of the season at Millerton Lake on January 12th. The weather was clear but cold and didn’t keep the Anglers away. Their were 48 Teams with 25 of them weighing in 5 Fish Limits. Fish were mainly caught in the Main Lake and Up River. 1st Place was won by the Team of Rod Burns & Denny Bowlin of Clovis. They had a total weight of 11.15 lbs. with 2nd Big Fish of 2.99 lbs. winning them a total of $4536.00. They caught their Fish in the Main Lake on Worms & Jigs. Sponsored by their Wives. 2nd Place was won by the Team of Jay Bradshaw and Bill McAninch of Fresno. They had a total weight of 8.43 lbs. winning them a total of $2408.00 They caught their fish Up River and Main Lake on points with boulders using spinner baits (Jackall flick shake).They are sponsored by Fish on Jigs, Small pocket Jigs, Mossdale Marine, Jackall Baits, Toray Line, Inland Marine, Legend Boats and Avid Digital. 3rd Place was won by the Team of Jim Snow and Jose Gayton of Dinuba. They had a total weight of 7.64 lbs. winning them a total of $1406.00. They caught their fish in the Squaw Arm on Worms & Jigs. 4th Place was won by the Team of Tim Well and Jeff D’alesandro weighing in 7.62 lbs. and winning them a total of $917.00. 5th Place was won by Chris and Leann Lienau weighing in a total of 7.28 lbs. winning them a total of $668.00 BIG FISH OF THE TOURNAMENT was won by David Compolongo and Brett Collins weighing in 3.00 lbs. and along with their 7th Place finish won them a total of $748.00 Congratulations to all and hope to see you on February 9th at Pine Flat Lake.
