100% BASS Press Release 03-08-2008 – Salcedo / Shishido go Back to Back at Millerton The Big Valley Region held it’s 3rd Tournament of the Season at Millerton Lake on 3/8/08. We had a total of 41 Teams with 37 Teams weighing in fish. The weather was excellent with blue sunny skies and the fishing was great. Winning their second tournament in a row, former anglers of the year Steve Salcedo of Exeter and Bryan Shishido of Lindsay, showed why they are always a team to contend with. They had a total weight of 9.83 lbs. winning them a total of $4042.00 They fished Sky-Harbor in the Main Lake using Yamamoto Hula Grubs with cut tails. They drop shot jigs in 40’ of water. They are sponsored by Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits, Skeeter and Yamaha. 2nd Place went to the Team of Brett Kemmer of Tulare and Scott Burns of Ventura. They had a total weight of 9.77 lbs. and Big Fish of the Tournament weighing 5.00 lbs. winning them a total of $2632.00. They fished in the Main Lake and River Channels using jigs and senkos slow and deep. They are sponsored by Bully Baits and Quiet Hitch. 3rd Place went to the Team of Jeff Mathews of Clovis and Ralph Encizo of Fresno. They had a total weight of 9.48 lbs winning them a total of $1524.00. They fished the whole lake running and gunning using Swim Baits, Spinner Baits and Jigs. They are sponsored by Valley Cycle Marine, Valley Rod & Gun, Pro Worms, Buff This. 4th Place went to the Team of Dana McGriff and Bobby Tilford with a total weight of 9.11 lbs. winning them $936.00. 5th Place went to the Team of Rod Burns and Denny Bowlin with a total weight of 8.66 lbs. winning them a total of $596.00 Congratulations to all and hope to see you on April 12, 2008 at Pine Flat Lake.
